Lynda Banzi Sponholtz received a B.F.A. from the University of New Hampshire and an M.F.A.
from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University. A self-professed locavore, she currently lives in Somerville, MA.
Her photographs have been shown at the greater Boston area and published in France Magazine, the Washington Post, and Gastronomica.
Lynda's contribution to Gastronomica included a series of photographs and interviews about "Home Cooks."
The "Home Cooks" series is comprised of individuals from various backgrounds for whom cooking is a vital ritual in their daily lives. The photos came from the belief that the act of preparing food is about more than just sustenance; it is full of cultural and symbolic meaning.
